OUR HISTORY
The original school was opened in the fall of 1959, on Grand Avenue, in Santa Ana. In 1969, Mrs Krull purchased the small school of 91 students, pre-primary through grade 5. In 1971, Mrs. Krull built and opened a second campus on Newport Avenue in Tustin, for grades K-8. Under Mrs. Krull's direction and with the assistance of her daughter Mrs. Mauro, Edgewood grew to accommodate over 300 students in pre-primary through grade 8.
Over the years Edgewood gained a far-reaching reputation for superior education, and received accreditation through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
In March of 1998, Mrs. Krull sold Edgewood Private School (the elementary portion) to Fairmont Private Schools. She retains and continues to direct, along with Mrs. Mauro the Edgewood PrePrimary Academy, which consists of preprimary, prekindergarten and kindergarten. Edgewood PrePrimary Academy is now in its 58th year of continuing a "Quest for Excellence" in early childhood education.
